Community Values

• We honor the collective wisdom in this space. We all have something to learn from one another, and we all have a responsibility to share what we know – and what we don't – to add to the learning environment.
• We allow ourselves and others to express at our own fluency. We allow ourselves the grace of “messing up” or stumbling over our words for the sake of learning and unlearning. We commit to doing our best so others can have the same experience. We are here collectively to learn a new language. We are likely not to get it right the first (or second, or third) time.
• We approach this space with a growth mindset. We commit to asking questions, embracing discomfort, and moving forward for the necessary work of learning and unlearning. We commit to offering grace and ease so that others can do the same.
• We respect everyone's time, especially our own. Please honor the time of our staff, our participants, and your own time for learning. Refrain from multitasking, and honor the time of the office hours if you choose to participate.
• We engage with curiosity and bravery. We make better decisions when we approach our problems and challenges with questions (“What if we…?”) and curiosity. Allow space for play, curiosity, and creative thinking.
